Single Parent Loan FAQs

A Single Parent Loan is designed specifically to assist single parents by providing them Centrelink friendly* loans. We understand that being a single parent comes with unique challenges, and regular loans might not be accessible for everyone. Unlike traditional loans, our Single Parent Loans aim to be more flexible, giving you a fair go1 even if you have a bad credit history or other issues that might make it challenging to secure a loan elsewhere.

To qualify for a Single Parent Loan1, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Australian resident
  • Be over 18 years old
  • Have your income paid directly into your bank account
  • Have a take-home income (after tax) or benefits of over $480 per week

This ensures that we can responsibly lend to you while giving you the financial assistance you may need. Even if you have bad credit, we'll give you a fair go.

We understand that life happens, and not everyone has a perfect credit history. While we do take your financial history into consideration, it's not the only factor to qualify for our bad credit loans. We look at your current ability to repay the loan and your overall financial situation. So, a poor credit history won't necessarily disqualify you.

The maximum unsecured personal loan amount depends on your source of income:

  • If you have income as a single parent from Centrelink* and elsewhere1, you can apply for up to $30,000.
  • If 100% of your income comes from Centrelink benefits*, you can apply for up to $10,000.

This allows us to tailor the loan to your specific financial situation and affordability.

Yes, you absolutely have the option for early repayment! And guess what? There are no penalties for doing so. If you find yourself in a position to repay the loan earlier than planned, you can go ahead without worrying about extra charges.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you find that you'll miss a payment or can't make it on time, the best thing to do is to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We'll review your situation and work with you to find a solution that's manageable for you.
